Thank you for taking a look at my social justice issue. This semester I focused on the issue of participation trophies and the impacts they have on our youth. My social justice issue ranges from a profile of a person that grew up in an era very different than what we live in today to an infographic showing the contrast of what we are giving kids with a trophy when we can easily give them something else that will help them in the long run of life. Veterans & mental Illness Author: Michelle West
Veterans with mental illness is a topic that needs to be talked about and needs to be addressed. The challenge with veterans may be difficult due to coping mechanisms of veterans to get past the trauma they endured and getting to a spot where they can heal. Some of the veterans I had interviewed had a hard time talking about their war experience without getting emotional. There are a lot of hardships associated with war. I know that there is more help for them now than ever but I think there is a stereotype of not knowing what to do for veterans. This needs to change from every angle. This topic is something that I have been worried about ever since I was a developing child and have learned more about the horror of this social justice issue. Globally, something needs to be done here or the catastrophic danger of waiting to fight this issue could become humanity's demise. My work should aim to give you a better understanding of global emissions and ways that you can help be an activist for positive change. |
